| Because dudes like stuff too |
Summer is a lot of things to me, but not lazy or casual. Well maybe lounging around in shorts and flip flops casual, but summer over at my studio means work., but the work I love to do. Work=art. I have a long to-do list, but I am excited to start hacking away little by little. Lots of dealing with bronze and iron age myths, peoples, costumes and general shinagins. There will be travel posters for afterlife destinations, book covers for lost Greek men on ships and how to throw a spear with your foot!
I am also hard at work refining the first book after gaining some great feedback. So let me show you more art.
I have been needing to work out sketches of the mercenaries and warriors that wandering through the first book and what I came across while researching costumes was the strange lack of stuff for the men. It’s not like they had huge range of choices: loincloth, no loincloth, tunics and pant, or just pants…but I am still a little struck considering some of the societies were very male dominated, you would think they would have a stronger fashion impression for that time period.Or maybe it’s my local library and it’s tunnel vision focus on Western European clothing from 13th century to modern. There was plenty of clothing options for men there, but looking back to the late bronze- early iron age and not Western Europe and it gets a little sketchy.
